Asia Global Yachting’s growing luxury charter fleet in Japan offers cruising in Tokyo and Kanagawa, Setouchi and surrounds, and sub-tropical Okinawa.

Asia Global Yachting, named Best Asia-Based Charter Company at the 2024 Yacht Style Awards, has revealed more details on potential charter itineraries and destinations in Japan, which is its newest market, having established itself in Thailand and Indonesia.

In Japan, the regional dealer is partnering with The Gift Life Inc to offer spectacular charter experiences in Tokyo and the coastal prefecture of Kanagawa to the south of the capital, as well as the Setouchi coastline in Okayama prefecture, and the southern islands in Okinawa prefecture.

Yachts in AGY’s charter fleet include four Riva motoryachts: a 100’ Corsaro (five cabins), a 76’ Perseo (three cabins), a 68’ Ego (three cabins) and a 33ft Aquariva Super (one cabin). The fleet also includes a Sunseeker 86 Yacht (four cabins), Azimut 80 (four cabins) and an eye-catching Franck Muller Edition of the Princess F49 (three cabins).

Most of the yachts are based in the Tokyo vicinity, apart from the Sunseeker, which is moored in Setouchi. But all can be requested for charter in AGY’s three areas of operation in Japan.

Itineraries in Tokyo include urban cruises against the backdrop of Japan’s largest city, while the nearby Kanagawa coastline is a short cruise away and offers tranquil beaches and scenic coastal towns. Islands in these waters include Enoshima and the Izu Islands including Oshima. Scenery includes ancient temples, volcanic landscapes, relaxing hot springs and lush hiking trails.

Okinawa offers a sub-tropical climate and idyllic beaches

Setouchi, located just over 400 miles west of Tokyo, is also situated on Japan’s main island of Honshu but its cruising area includes the Seto Inland Sea and reaches south to Shikoku, the smallest of the country’s four main islands. Known for its calm waters and rich cultural heritage, the area is ideal for island hopping, with islands including Naoshima, Miyajima, Shodoshima and Teshima.

The most remote charter option is the southern Okinawa islands, with the main island of Okinawa just 400 nautical miles east-northeast of Taiwan. The area is renowned for its sub-tropical climate, crystal-clear waters, idyllic beaches and coral reefs, while historic sites including ancient castles are among land attractions.
