Following Bad Company Support 175 and Five Oceans, the third Yacht Support 53 has been launched in Turkey and is available for a summer delivery.
Damen Yachting has launched the third Yacht Support 53 at its build facility in Antalya, with final outfitting and sea trials to be held in the coming months. Available for a summer 2025 delivery, the 175ft, 499GT yacht has a top speed of 19 knots, a range of 5,000 nautical miles at 12 knots, and accommodation for eight guests and 10 crew plus a captain.
Featuring naval architecture and exterior and interior design by Damen Yachting, the third YS53 features sharp, angular lines and is fronted by an axe bow design engineered to slice through waves and reduce vertical motion for a smoother ride. The high bow and pronounced spray rails keep the deck dry, ensuring safety and comfort while protecting sensitive equipment from salt water.
The forward-raked windows improve visibility in bad weather, increase useable space, and reduce heat and nighttime glare. The yacht has over 200sqm of deck space for water toys and tenders, and includes a 15-tonne crane and a reinforced deck for touch-and-go helicopter operations.
Pim Oostra, Damen Yachting Project Manager for YS 5303, said: “The launch really reflects the fact that this latest Yacht Support design is now coming into its own as a series. We are looking forward to the final build stages as we prepare everything ready for completion this summer.”
The Yacht Support 53 series started with Bad Company Support 175, the mothership of Anthony Hsieh’s fleet dedicated to deep-sea fishing and scientific programmes, and was followed by the blue-hulled Five Oceans, owned by Tommy Allen of Five Oceans Global Solutions. To date, Damen Yachting has delivered over 20 purpose-built support yachts.
