Damen 58m SeaXplorer for 2022
Damen Yachting is building the third unit from its SeaXplorer series in Turkey, for delivery to her owner in 2022.
The SeaXplorer 58 is the third model from Damen Yachting’s expedition series
Following the 62m Anawa and 77m La Datcha delivered in 2020, Damen Yachting has revealed details of the third SeaXplorer, a 58m custom build due for delivery to her owner in 2022. The shipyard has described the new 1,090GT SeaXplorer as “the perfect expedition yacht for the owner’s lifestyle of adventurous globe-trotting exploration with family and friends”.
The exterior is by Azure Yacht Design, the Dutch design and naval architecture studio behind all the SeaXplorer designs, while the range has also benefited from design partner EYOS Expeditions and their operational design input gained from experience in the field. The interior is by Design Unlimited, the owner’s chosen interior architect.
The covered area under the helideck is a standout social zone
The SeaXplorer 58 will be the fifth Damen Yachting delivery from the builder’s Antalya facility in Turkey. By starting the hull construction upfront, the Dutch-owned shipyard was able to offer the experienced owner a customisable platform with delivery in less than two years.
The model features the SeaXplorer’s signature bow point observation lounge, while the upper deck has an open sky lounge and dining with concertina-opening glass partitions to the jacuzzi. One of the standout areas is under the aft helideck, where a luxury cabana-style outdoor lounge includes a bar, folding balconies and an infinity-edged pool.
“With fresh breezes and shaded ocean vistas, the whole aft of the yacht will be a beautiful and inspiring space to experience the world,” said Enrique Tintore, Damen Yachting’s SeaXplorer Design Manager.
There’s accommodation for 12 guests in six suites, while a crew of 15 will run the yacht with extra accommodation for two expedition staff. The yacht will carry a custom 11.4m performance sailboat, two large multi-role tenders and a wide range of toys, with the ability to carry road and off-road vehicles and motorcycles.
The SeaXplorer 58 features an Ice Class hull for safe operations in polar waters, plus sustainable and low-maintenance options including a premium synthetic teak deck. The yacht has oceangoing autonomy for up to 30 days without port call due to chilled garbage stores and waste-water tanks for sustainable operations in zero-discharge zones of natural beauty.
Damen Yachting has sold a 72m hybrid expedition vessel, with Burgess representing an owner set to “explore new places in some of the most challenging waters in the world” following the yacht’s 2024 delivery.
