Camper & Nicholsons opens new design studio

The global brokerage house has opened a yacht design studio in Italy, offering design and project coordination services for new-build and refit projects.
Camper & Nicholsons has opening a new yacht design studio in the Tuscan shipbuilding hub of Viareggio, Italy. The opening marks the addition of a new department to the company, which started life as a shipyard in England back in 1782, and now focuses on yacht brokerage and management services through offices across Europe, North America and Asia.
Paolo Casani, CEO of Camper & Nicholsons, said: “Today isn’t just about a new address. It’s about a new chapter. With this studio in Viareggio, we reaffirm our roots and expand into areas that strengthen our heritage: new build sales, project management, refit and design. Our promise is to provide a seamless service, from concept to cruising.”
The team at Camper & Nicholsons’ new design studio will work on refits, new build sales and project coordination for new builds, as well as the interior and exterior design for both yachts and residential projects. The design concepts curated at the new Viareggio studio will benefit from a dedicated materials lounge and a digital configurator to allow owners to visualise their projects.
Daniela Duck, Managing Director of Camper & Nicholsons Italy and Group Head of New Build, will manage the new Viareggio site with support from New Build Sales Manager Francesca Ragnetti and a full creative design team.
“Our clients can now experience a truly collaborative environment,” commented Duck, detailing that the new studio “is where owners, shipyards and our team come together to create yachts of the highest quality”. Duck further explained that “with the materials lounge and digital configurator, decisions become faster and more accurate”.
Casani echoed Duck’s comments, adding: “This is just the beginning. We are shaping the future of yachting by uniting sales, new build, refit and design under one roof, creating a seamless journey from concept to cruising.”
Camper & Nicholsons has confirmed that the design team in Viareggio is already at work on its first new build project, with several refit projects simultaneously now underway.
