Azimut launches Magellano flagship

SHARE

Following the release of the Magellano 25 Metri, the Italian builder has splashed the 30 Metri, the new flagship of the long-range line.

Ken Freivokh drew the exterior of the Magellano 30 Metri

Azimut has launched hull one of the Magellano 30 Metri in Viareggio. The model features exterior styling by Ken Freivokh and interior design by Vincenzo De Cotiis, the pair reuniting following their work on the Magellano 25 Metri (cover, Issue 55) released in late 2020.

The Magellano Collection caters for owners focused on long cruises, with low fuel consumption and interiors designed for extensive stays on board. The teak louvres that close and complement the extensive glazed surfaces in the superstructure are a signature feature of the Magellano line.

Outdoor areas include an ‘infinity terrace’ aft on the main deck and the generous terrace on the upper deck. The yacht has over 70sqm of glazed surfaces, so many interior areas benefit from huge windows such as the living space on the main deck, the full-beam owner’s suite and the upper-deck skylounge.

Dual-mode hull by Pierluigi Ausonio Naval Architecture (P.L.A.N.A)

The Magellano 30 Metri features naval architecture by P.L.A.N.A and a second-generation ‘dual-mode hull’ for efficiency at both mid-range and higher speeds, reducing consumption by about 15 per cent compared with traditional hard-chine planing hulls. The Hotel Mode package includes 100kWh lithium batteries that enable the yacht to stay at anchor with zero emissions for up to 4hrs during the day and 8hrs at night.

Marine Italia represents Azimut in Hong Kong, Macau, Guangdong, Taiwan and Singapore. Asia’s first hull of the Magellano 25 Metri arrived in Hong Kong last year.
