Azimut plans massive display for FLIBS

The Italian shipyard is planning to exhibit 20 yachts at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in Florida.

Azimut is preparing to stage the US debut of the Seadeck 6 as part of an enormous 20-yacht display at this year’s Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from October 30-November 3. The Seadeck 6 (click for Review) is the first model in Azimut’s new Seadeck series and has been joined recently by the in-water launch of the Seadeck 7, which has yet to make its boat show debut.
Featuring external lines by Alberto Mancini, the Seadeck 6 is notable for its Fun Island, a reinterpreted beach area with two opening wings creating an expansive terrace overlooking the sea, a high-low platform that descends to water level, and a large sunbed.

Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez are handling interiors for the Seadeck models, which are among Azimut’s most efficient as they include a superstructure lightened by extensive use of carbon-fibre, and a high-efficiency hull developed by the Azimut-Benetti Group with NAMES (Naval Architecture & Marine Engineering Studio).
To reduce emissions, the Seadeck 6 features the Mild Hybrid Zero Emission Hotel Mode system, which allows both zero-emission anchoring and cruising with the generator off. According to Azimut, the Seadeck 6 can reduce CO2 emissions by up to 40 per cent over an average year of use compared to a yacht of similar size with shaft-line propulsion and a traditional hull.

Sustainable materials are also to the fore. Where possible, Azimut has replaced traditional materials with natural, recycled and recyclable alternatives, such as cork used in place of teak in the decking, PET from recycled plastic replacing PVC in the bulkhead core, and lower-deck carpeting in Econyl, a fibre made of regenerated nylon from fishing nets.
Azimut’s full line-up at the Fort Lauderdale show includes models from all its series, including Verve (42, 48), Atlantis (45), S (S6, S7), Fly (50, 53, 60, 68, 72, 78), Magellano (60, 66, 25M, 30M) and Grande (26M, 27M, 36M, Trideck). Azimut’s dealers in Asia include Marine Italia, which represents the brand in Hong Kong, Guangdong, Macau, Taiwan and Singapore.
